The recent $6 million expansion has significantly enlarged the original Lyric, increasing its size from 13,000 square feet to 29,000 square feet. This comprehensive renovation and remastering of the historic theatre include the addition of a cultural arts wing featuring a museum and art gallery. Additionally, a spacious community area on the first floor and a courtyard have been incorporated, completing the transformation of the Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center. - Rentals have a three-hour minimum, with available hours from 8:00 am to 12:00 am. The hourly rental period includes time for setup, the event itself, and breakdown. All rental hours must be consecutive; for instance, setting up the night before for a next-day event is not permitted.
- The hourly rental rate includes technical staffing for basic technical needs. Events requiring more advanced technical support may incur a minor additional cost.
- All events at the Lyric Theatre must use The Lyric’s Box Office for ticket handling.
- Ticketing fees, which are borne by the customer, will be applied to each ticket sold.
- Comprehensive insurance coverage is mandatory for all theatrical rentals at the Lyric Theatre.
Rental Note*
Rentals at our facility can extend beyond regular operating hours, with availability from Tuesday to Sunday, between 8:00 am and 12:00 am. Additionally, our Box Office remains open beyond typical business hours to align with event schedules, including evenings and weekends. ‘The beautiful and historic Lyric Theatre is an amazing venue, from the exciting look as you approach from outside to the spacious and art-filled lobby to the absolutely gorgeous room of the main theater. The stage and sound and lighting is top-flight and the house crews are fabulous to work with. The Lexington Music Awards came in for our inaugural show in 2014 and have worked with Tim and his staff every year since – always a wonderful and positive experience, and it is in great part due to them that our annual show continues to grow. I cannot recommend The Lyric any more highly. In my 35+ years in the music & entertainment industry, I have rarely had such a positive working relationship or played/produced in such a beautiful venue. The experience is quite remarkable and, I would add, unparalleled.’
